I don’t think anyone is surprised to learn that the world is in a downward spin. There are way too many Third World countries in the world today. Communism in the disguise of socialism has crippled many countries and the people of those ungodly regimes are trapped in hopeless poverty and despair.
Are we headed for a Third Word? Yes! We ARE headed for a Third World Country and the Bible proves it. Read it in 2Pet. 3-13
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.
THE FIRST WORLD…The world that then WAS “being overflowed with water PERISHED”. The first world was a created world, spoken into existence by Almighty God. There was no big bang. Nothing plus nobody equals everything. The first world was created and framed by the Word of God. It was a Created World and it was a CORRUPT world. God saw that every imagination of the heart was continually evil. Created, corrupt and condemned. Noah preached for 120 years…bless his heart, 120 years. God’s longsuffering and patience was extended, Noah’s final fruits was 8 people! The first world was described as “willingly ignorant”. That world is the world “that was”, it is PAST.
The PRESENT world is called “that is NOW”. Peter says the first thing to look for in this present world is scoffers walking after their own lust. Actually, the presence and propensity of scoffers is in itself a prophetic sign. So, here we have the PAST world, the PRESENT world and the PROSPECTIVE world.
Amazing that the sinful nature of man continued immediately following the great deliverance from the waters of judgment. It continues to this day, even though a Savior was sent He was despised and rejected, He Himself was mocked and scoffed at. Peter says by the same word that unleashed a perishing flood…”by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
Kept in store…stored up. Reserved, unto fire…held back. Do you know that everything is made up of atoms? Though I’m not the most qualified to talk about this, an atom is composed of three tiny particles, protons, neutrons, and electrons. Stored up in everything is the atom. It is estimated that the electrons circle the nucleus billions of times in one-millionth of a second. What holds it all together? God does, Jesus…”all things were made by him and for Him and without Him was not any thing made that was made.” This tremendous energy is stored up in everything, it is reserved unto fire.
“Reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men…the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat the earth also and the works therein shall be burned up.”
The world was not created with a “big bang”, but it will be destroyed by one. Fervent heat the word fervent comes from the word fever, it is stored up heat. When God says it will be unleashed, “The heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.” v12
Ask Hiroshima about the reality of it. This second world is fire yet to be unleashed. God is longsuffering and it is easy for Him to wait in His mercy. For one day with Him is as a thousand years, He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance! This PRESENT world is a ticking time bomb.
Past, present, and prospective. The Prospective world is actually His Promised world. A new Heaven and New Earth. There is a New World Ordered.
Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you! That is His Promise and it is good. If God would ever, if He could ever, break a promise you can be sure it would have been in the Garden when Jesus asked if there could be another way…He kept that promise and you can be sure He will keep this one. This one is being kept hour by hour.
The New Ordered world will be renovated by fire and there will be no sea there. Rivers but no sea. There will be no night, rest but no night. Light, but no sun, for He will be the Light. No sin, but many redeemed from sin. No sickness and no need for hospitals. Lots of born again doctors but not to practice medicine.
Lots of people from suffering third world countries but never to suffer in this THIRD world. This new world is not only prospective and promised, it is also pure!
